Do Tempe homes need a sump pump?

Why most Valley homes don't have one

Sump pumps are standard in regions with basements and high water tables, where groundwater seeps into below-grade living space and has to be pumped out. Tempe is the opposite: slab-on-grade construction with no basement, shallow foundations because the ground never freezes, and no below-grade space for water to collect in. When the real fix is not a pump
